In recent years, Internet of Things is developing rapidly in our country. As an important application of Internet of Things, smart home has become a hot topic of research. Currently, most of the smart home system is widely applied with wired network. Its complex wiring severely affect the scalability and maintenance costs of the entire system. As the demand of consumer for smart home and the advantages and disadvantages of existing products, in this paper, i design a smart home system solutions which is based on Zig Bee wireless communication technology and ARM-based embedded system. It is divided into Zig Bee node design and master controller design.1. Zig Bee node design. Select TI's CC2530 chip as the Zig Bee hardware platform core, then design Zig Bee node hardware which is divided into Zig Bee kernel-board and Zig Bee function-board. Select temperature&humidity sensor DHT11, human pyroelectric infrared sensor HC-SR501 to collect environmental information, select relay to control home appliances switch. Zig Bee network structure is star network topology. Then design the software of Zig Bee coordinator node and terminal node on Z-Stack protocol stack.2.Master controller design. Select S3C2440 processor, SIM300 communication module, USR-WIFI232-B Wi-Fi module and Android system phone as the hardware platform of master controller. Firstly, transplant the embedded Linux system, including Bootloader, embedded Linux kernel and file system. Then develop the Qt interface, design a touch interface of smart home system. Then design the software of SIM300 communication module, which achieve mobile remote control function by SMS communications. Finally, design the software of USR-WIFI232-B Wi-Fi module. It can send commands to the Wi-Fi module by touching the touch interface of Android system phone to realize short range control function by phone.3.System test. Firstly, test each part of the system, including Zig Bee network test, SIM300 communicate test and Wi-Fi communicate test. Then test overall system. Test results show that it meets the design requirements of the system, it can realize touch interface control, phone short range control, phone remote control on control mode, and household saving control, environmental monitoring on the function.
