Fuel economy of automobile and its transmission system has a lot to do, in the engine output power is constant, transmission system, the smaller the resistance, the higher transmission efficiency, its fuel consumption is lower.In order to improve the transmission efficiency of the car, the implementation of the national energy conservation and emissions reduction measures to improve the fuel economy of automobile, this paper takes a certain type of automotive drum brakes as study object, illustrates the structure and classification of drum brake, and the mechanical properties and braking efficiency are analyzed. By testing comparison test and vehicle emission test of drum brake drum brake, analyzes the micro car with other similar models of the gap, and by vehicle test data reflect the difference, according to the analysis results, proposes the structure optimization case of drum brake.In this paper, through the UG software is established with the brake drum, brake shoe and friction lining for the 3 d model of the brake parts,To import brake model of finite element simulation software ABAQUS, the definition of brake parts model material and sectional properties, meshing, interactions between the set components and boundary conditions and loads, job submission analysis, obtained the mie of parts of the drum brake and stress, contact stress and displacement distribution, etc.Through using ABAQUS software to optimize the drum brake after simulation analysis, and compared with before optimization of drum brake comparative analysis of the stress and displacement to determine the correctness of the optimization scheme.Manufacture drum brake sample, carries on the drive axle test validate brake structure improvement of drive axle transmission efficiency.Slide on the vehicle emission test, through 50 km distance, resistance and hundreds of kilometers of vehicle fuel consumption further validate brake of automobile transmission system.
