With the highway network construction is increasingly perfect, highway mileage is increasing, mountain road alignment index is relatively poor because of the landform of mountain. There have been a lot of accident prone sections, especially in continuous slope sections. This paper researches on mountain continuous slope road based on the driver's eye movement characteristics.From the topographic features of mountainous highway point, this paper analyzes the development status of highway in mountainous area and the current situation of road traffic safety in our country. The driver's visual needs is determined as the research target based on the factors causing road traffic accidents. Then paper analyzes characteristics of continuous linear mountain slope roads, describes the dynamic visual characteristics of the driver in the driving process and the related theory of saccades, watch.According to the whole train of thought, experiment is designed and data are processed. First, determines the representative test section, selects experimental equipment and instruments, and the appropriate test driver, then experiments. Second, the test data are preliminary analysis. After that selects the effectively data using the according to the preliminary data, and choose the appropriate data processing method, software, and methods.On the base of determination of the bearing changing rate as the index of horizontal alignment, and determines its calculation formula. After that builds the relationship model between the eye movement characteristics with each driver and different alignment on the free flow condition, then summarizes its regularity. Afterwards divides the rational test section of slope, calculates it using the above model, and summarize its regularity.In the end, the paper rates the risk classification of study road according to analysis results of different road alignment under the driver's eye movement characteristics, then verifies this section of the study results combined with the characteristics of the traffic accidents in study road. The final research results can provide reference for the revision of specification about continuous slope roads.
