As a typical and regional disaster activity, Xi'an ground fissure has been for a long time and is widely distributed. Not only does it make great damage to all kinds of building structures, but also trigger a series of environmental problem. With the continuous expansion of Xi'an city, it is neither economical nor reasonable to adopt the principle of Ground-space avoiding blindly. Therefore, it has very practical significance to research the damage of Xi'an ground fissures on the upper building structure and to make disaster prevention measures. In this paper, Xi'an f6 ground fissure which acts weakly and more stably in recent years are taken as the study object, according to the practical engineering model, a typical reinforced concrete frame structure model which is six floors are built by the finite element analysis software MIDAS/GEN. Firstly, the dynamic time-history analysis results of reinforced concrete frame structure which the ground fissure is considered or not are compared, and it is quantitatively proved the ground fissure has great destruction on the upper frame structure. Secondly, the dynamic time-history analysis results of frame structure conditions with different settlement ground fissure are compared to investigate the difference of ground fissure with different settlement to frame structure mechanical properties. In the last, in order to reduce the earthquake damage of structure, an effective prevention measure of ground fissure has been putted forward for the structure which is across the ground fissure in high-intensity area, and it has obtained some more meaningful research results.
