With the rapid development of machining in the direction of high speed and high precision, it puts forward higher requirements for CNC machine. The performance of NC machine tool is directly affected by one of its key components-linear rolling guide. The vibration resistance of guide rail is the bottleneck in the performance improvements of the CNC machine. In recent years, the problem attracted great attention both at home and abroad, and foreign companies have developed a guide rail oil film damper, the vibration reduction can be achieved by the squeeze oil film between the guide rail and the damper. There is no such mature product in our country and relative research is lacked. Therefore, in this paper, we present a comprehensive study of the linear rolling guide damper under thin film lubrication, it provides theoretical support for independent industrialization of high performance guide rail damper for our country.First, the working principle of the damper is expounded, the basic mechanism of damper under thin film lubrication is introduced. Considering the lubricating medium viscosity changing with distance from the surface of the liquid left, viscosity Reynolds equation is modified. Also, the model is corrected with the consideration of temperature effect during movement of the damper, and sticky variable viscosity Reynolds equation is established.Second, the vibration damping type of the linear rolling guide damper under thin film lubrication is analyzed. The mathematical model of the damping oil film of the damper is established. Energy dissipation factor of the extrusion oil film is analyzed. The fluid-solid coupling motion equation is established considering the flow fluid power on the surface of the solid boundary.The finite element software ANSYS Workbench is used for the simulation and calculation of the guide damper system, mainly system modal analysis and harmonic response analysis. The natural frequency and modal characteristics of the guide system are concluded with and without damper. The response characteristics of guide rail system with and without damper are analyzed under simple harmonic excitation. Finally, the experimental scheme of comprehensive experiment platform of the guide rail damper is provided.
