With the development of the society,Tourism Business District become the primary choice by the public, moreover, the commercial pedestrian street plays an essential role in the TBD. It not only supplies the urban public space of the principal places, but also reflects the characteristics and charm of the city. Wuhan and Taipei, two beautiful cities, which are full of culture and history and own several different styles of commercial pedestrian streets. Guanggu Pedestrian Street and Xinmen Pedestrian Street are quite popular, alike in both walking spaces and can also satisfy diversified market demands. However, they have separate development courses and the space forms. This paper has examined the progress, experience and attractions of space through compared with the Guanggu Pedestrian Street and Xinmen Pedestrian Street. In addition, the author summarized the affecting factors of the space forms in these two Pedestrian streets. Additionally, the paper also gives numerous advice and suggests for the construction of other commercial pedestrian streets.This article gave the basic concept of commercial pedestrian streets firstly. And then, the paper combed the properties, characteristics; principle of the layout of the commercial pedestrian street space, etc after researched the theory of figure-ground relationship, urban image, and external space design. Furthermore, through using field survey and questionnaire research methods analyzed cross section dimension, pavement design, node space and street furniture on the Guanggu Pedestrian Street and Xinmen Pedestrian Street as the physical element. Besides, this essay discussed the issues of business format, street traffic, usage amount and quality of space through compared analysis with the commercial space, the space of civic service, and recreation space of the two streets.In summary, the formation of commercial pedestrian street space is not a simple process; it has been influenced by many factors. Nevertheless, the most important factor of streets design is targeted at people, so that; space form design should consider the experience and feelings of people to create the charming space. Guanggu Pedestrian Street and Xinmen Pedestrian Street as newly build and traditional renewable walking streets respectively have their individual advantages. In the construction of the future, they can complement each other to constitute a perfect space. This paper was researched the spatial shape elements in the qualitative and quantitative ways with an interdisciplinary approach in order to ensure that the research results have more powerfully persuasive.
