| As an important space in people’s lives,urban public space has an important influence on pedestrians activities,and a good space environment can encourage people to participate in it and increase the usage of urban public space.As the central place of people’s communication,recreation,leisure and recreational activities,the urban commercial pedestrian street district is an important public space in the life of the citizens,and its built environmental quality is closely related to the quality of life of urban residents.Therefore,it is important to explore the intrinsic relationship between the built environment characteristics of urban commercial pedestrian street district and residents’ behavior activities,which has an irreplaceable role in improving the quality of life of urban residents and promoting the construction of a new type of urbanization in China.This study takes 18 street sections of similar patterns and scales on WUHAN TIANDI commercial pedestrian street district as a sample.The study analyzes the correlation between the built environment characteristics of urban public space and pedestrian activity density,and summarizes the built environment characteristics of commercial pedestrian street district that may affect pedestrian activity density,and according to the actual conditions of the sample,a system of built environmental characteristics about the commercial pedestrian street district for this study is established,and the system includes two categories: spatial relationship characteristics and intrinsic characteristics,the spatial relationship characteristics are visibility and accessibility,the intrinsic characteristics include spatial characteristics,facility characteristics,green features,and store characteristics.The study records the type of pedestrian activity,the location of the event and the gender of the pedestrian by the method of action observation,and obtains the data of the building height,street width,length of the transparent interface of the street building,the number of signboards and the number of seats in the 18 research samples of commercial pedestrian street district by the method of field investigation,and based on the space syntax theory,Depthmap software is used to analyze the spatial visibility and accessibility of the sample street section in the commercial pedestrian street district.In this study,the spatial autocorrelation analysis of pedestrian activity density inthe each street section space of commercial pedestrian street district is carried out to examine the spatial dependence of pedestrian activity density in the study area,and the results show that the overall pedestrian activity density of weekdays is dispersed in the space of each street section of commercial pedestrian street district.At the same time,the multivariate linear regression model in SPSS19.0 analysis software is used to analyze the correlation between the environmental characteristics of commercial pedestrian street district and the density of pedestrian activity.The results show that:(1)With the integration of the spatial structure relation characteristics--visibility and accessibility,the research results show that the fitting effect and interpretation of multivariate linear regression models have been improved.(2)The total pedestrian activity density is positively correlated with transparency,and negatively correlated with the bottom signboard density and upper signboard density.(3)The density of sitting activity is positively correlated with the seat density,and it is negatively related to the visibility,the bottom signboard density and shop popularity.(4)The density of standing activity is positively correlated with the seat density and movable signboard density and negatively correlated with the the bottom signboard density and green ratio.Finally,according to the analysis results,this paper puts forward the improvement strategy of planning and design in urban commercial pedestrian street district,and provides the basis and guidance for urban planning and design and managers to carry out the planning design and spatial transformation of urban commercial pedestrian street district.The results will help to improve the planning and design strategy and related norms of the commercial pedestrian street district,and further promote the construction of humane urban public space.At the same time,its research methods and framework enrich the quantitative analysis technology path of urban environmental behavioral research,and provide reference for the study of the correlation between urban built environment and citizen activities. |
