As one of the key components of the ship, the propeller's manufacturing process is very complicated, and because of propeller's large size, measuring or machining operations on a real rough propeller may have greater risks and costs.Computer simulation is an important means to analyze system operation and behavior and dynamic process. Taking the propeller manufacturing process measurement as the background, the paper will detailed instruct the Computer Simulation Technology's using in the propeller measuring system. The main contents of this section are as follows: first, the modeling process of the system's environment which including measuring machine components based on the structure of segment and the propeller's structure will be indicated. Second, the simulation movement principle based on the time and simulation control(mainly the acceleration control of the simulation) and the composite movement of model components based on the structure of segment will be researched.In order to improve the authenticity of system simulation, collision detection simulation will be an indispensable part of the simulation process. The propeller is composed of complex surface geometry and belonging to the fine model, contains more triangles. Using the direct collision detection on models is often inefficient and unable to meet the requirements. On the basis of the propeller measurement system simulation, this paper will study how to keep the balance of collision detection's real-time and accuracy and how to make collision detection under this balance. The main research contents of this part are as follows: First, this paper will elaborate on the collision detection technology based on bounding box and compared their respective advantages and disadvantages, providing theoretical reference on the choice of bounding box of propeller measurement system simulation for subsequent. Second, in order to reduce the accurate collision detection model complexity, the system which described in this paper adopts the hierarchical bounding box tree detection method that based on the model segmentation, elaborates on the dividing process of propeller model and the step-by-step process of collision detection. Third, through the programming, the simulation process and collision detection function will be realized. This paper will take more sets of data to illustrate the effect of hierarchical bounding box tree method, affirming the detection method in system simulation can improve the efficiency of simulation to a certain extent. But this method also has many problems that make the efficiency's improving of collision detection limited.After analyzing the simulation results, this paper puts forward using the dynamic model dividing method rather than the static model dividing method which used in the original propeller measuring system.Using dynamic model dividing method can significantly reduce the number of model segments and can improve the operating experience to a certain extent.
