Automotive automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT) is wider range of speed ratio change, through continuous adjusting transmission ratio, it can make the engine always work along the best fuel economy curve or the best dynamic curve in any condition, to save fuel, simple operation, reducing pollution exhaust. In addition, CVT can keep the power not break off in the shift process, reduce the impact of driving, thereby improve the dynamic performance and the car driving comfort. According to the performance contrast test by a few great foreign famous auto makers concluded that under the same conditions, the car equipmented CVT in addition to transmission efficiency and cost slightly inferior than the mechanical transmission (MT) or the hydraulic machinery automatic transmission (AT) car, it has obvious advantages in economical efficiency, dynamic property, comfort, exhaust, life expectancy and reliability and so on. Therefore, CVT have excellent practical value and broad application prospect, at present it has become the automobile gearbox focal point of research and extension in internal and foreign country.The research object of this topic is mechanical electronic CVT (EMCVT), compared with traditional metal belt CVT, EMCVT abandoned the high energy consumption and low reliability hydraulic pressure mode, use the simple structure, low or no energy consumption motor, gear, spring system instead, which decreased the cost, and improved reliability, and further develop the CVT energy-saving characteristic.Although the research of EMCVT already has made some progress, there are still many problems waitting to be solved. This article mainly aims at study the control system of EMCVT. Firstly introduced the mechanical structure and speed change principle, made clear the input/output control signals, then designed and made the control system hardware circuit, and made the electronic control box and SSR box. The article discussed the EMCVT control strategy of transmission ratio and the clutch, finally made the simulation experiments and on-board experiment, and verifies the system function, and achieved good results.
