At present, Warm Mix Asphalt(WMA) has been widely researched and applied at home and abroad as a new type of energy saving and environment protection. WMA, not only reduces production temperature, but also saves a lot of fuel, which is good for resources saving and environment protection. However, in the meanwhile, lower production temperature can cause the moisture in the aggregate difficult to completely dry, which can easily lead to water damage of pavement. In order to study the effects of residual moisture in the aggregate on the adhesion characteristics of organic wax warm mix asphalt-aggregate interface and moisture susceptibility of mixture, surface free energy theory and correction of Lottman test have been used respectively to study the adhesion characteristics of different organic wax warm mix asphalt(Sasobit warm mix asphalt and RH warm mix asphalt) and different moisture content(0%,1%,2%,3%) and the surface of the aggregate(limestone and basalt),and to test moisture susceptibility of organic wax warm mix asphalt under different water content. The results have showed that:(1) residual moisture in aggregates significantly decreased adhesion between organic wax warm mix asphalt-aggregate interface and moisture susceptibility of mixture;(2) compared with limestone, basalt is beneficial to the improvement of adhesion between the organic wax warm mix asphalt-aggregate interface and moisture susceptibility of mixture;(3) compared with the RH warm mix agent, Sasobit warm mix agent is more conducive to improving the adhesion between the organic wax warm mix asphalt-aggregate interface and moisture susceptibility of mixture;(4) whether using basalt or limestone, RH warm mix agent or Sasobit warm mix agent, there exists a good linear relationship between the adhesion between organic wax warm mix asphalt-aggregate interface and moisture susceptibility of mixture.
