This topic has made a research on the process of gear pump trapped oil, mainly has carried on the theoretical analysis, UG three-dimensional modeling, flow field analysis of FLUENT pressure, experimental research, etc.This paper first analyzes the instantaneous flow rate and the volumetric efficiency of the gear pump, and establishes trapped oil volume variation equation of the gear pump. It is concluded that the change curve of trapped oil volume approximately is for quadratic function. Then model the gear pump through the three-dimensional software UG, measure the changing rule of the gear pump trapped oil area, then using MATLAB to do polynomial fitting of test data. So it gets the variation curve of gear pump trapped oil area, and the use of the measured data is also available to get the trapped oil pressure variation curve in theory based on the liquid bulk modulus formula. Simulated by FLUENT for the pressure field of gear pump trapped oil area, it is concluded that the result is consistent with the results of data fitting. Based on the simulation results, modified the gear pump, block the unloading tank with a designed cover, to determine the position of the designed hole in the compression process by UG in the trapped oil region, to complete the design of the hydraulic system principle, to set up the experiment station and do actual measurement for trapped oil process of gear pump.To deal with the experimental data obtained from the analysis shows that the measured flow and theory of flow is larger when empty, and account for only 31.3% of the theory of flow, which illustrates volumetric efficiency of the gear pump is relatively low, trapped oil flow is not completely removed, besides there is leakage, also due to the vibration makes trapped outlet does not work. As a result, the vibration of the gear pump also affects the test results. The measured data analysis through the relief valve pressure indicates that with higher pressure, discharge flow less and less, traffic is becoming more and more quickly.
