Solar simulator is an instrument used for simulate the irradiation of sunlight. It can simulate different kinds of solar radiation at different kinds of air mass. Solar spectrum can be obtained by the filter which is as core component of solar simulator and used for filtering the illuminant.The fabrication and stability of the AMO filter is the primary assignment in this article. Solar spectrum at the surface of atmosphere, when the sun perpendicular irradiates the atmosphere, can be obtained by AMO filter. According to the characteristic of this kind of solar simulator, it is frequently applied in space flight area for simulating the universe environment. In this assignment, the AMO filter spectral curve is acquired by computing with the spectral curve of xenon lamp and the spectral curve of AMO. And then the material for the design and fabrication of the AMO filter are selected by some experiments. After the selecting, the structure of the AMO filter is designed. At last, the fabrication and testing of AMO filter are carried out. The results are as follow:?1? The spectral curve of AMO filter can be obtained by dividing with the irradiance of AMO radiation in specify wavelength and the irradiance of xenon lamp radiation in the same wavelength. The calculation result shows that, the AMO filter transmission curve have a lower transmission at wavelength ranging from 300-750nm,the average transmittance is about 90%,and have a higher transmission at wavelength ranging from 800-1100nm, the average transmittance is about 20%.?2? According to the requirement of optical stability for the AMO filter, some experiments are carried out for selecting material. The results show that the MgF2 and HfO2 are the proper material for the design and fabrication of the AMO filter. Through the TFC software, the AMO filter structure is designed. Its structure is G I ?HL? 4HL/2| A, the reference wavelength is 950 nm.?3? The AMO filter satisfied the design requirement by testing with the U3501 spectrophotometer. Then using the XJCM tester to test the AMO filter, the results shows that the index of radiation match satisfied A standard,and the stability of AMO filter is better than traditional solar simulator filter, it have better optical property after 1000 impulse irraditions.
