Energy is the fundamental and power to the modernization. Energy supply and security relates to China's modernization. The problems of energy restriction and ecological environment hinder the development of china's economy, which lead to a series of new problems and challenges of energy development. As the main content of the strategy system of energy saving and emission cutting, building energy saving has drawn more attention in recent years. Improving the thermal insulation properties of building envelope is the most direct and effective way to reduce energy consumption in buildings. The wall architectural is an important component of the building envelope, and energy consumption in the wall has the largest proportion in building envelope. Therefore, as the fastest growing technology of wall energy saving currently, the external thermal insulation system becomes the leading form of wall insulation.There are two important elements in this paper, including technical-economic analysis and life-cycle cost analysis of external wall insulation system. Through the calculation research of actual and simulation of life-cycle cost of different external thermal insulation system, this paper provides references to evaluate the energy efficiency of the external thermal insulation system and establishes the cost-value system suitable for the cost of building energy saving technology. The following work is mainly studied in this paper:(1) It is summarized the domestic and foreign development and present research situations of the industry, pointing out the experiences generalization and development trend of external thermal insulation. Besides, economic advantages of the system are analyzed, and several common insulation materials are introduced.(2) Through the practical investigation of the implementing situation of the external thermal insulation technology in a city, the author collected such data related influencing factors as different wall structure, cost of insulation layer and thickness of insulation layer. General evaluations of technical performance and economic performance of external thermal insulation system are made according to the investigation data.(3) Based on the basic principle of life-cycle cost analysis, the paper starts from the life-cycle cost structure of external thermal insulation system, and then establishes life-cycle cost analysis model of system. Finally, the analysis of life-cycle saving efficiency and cost of main external thermal insulation system are made.
