With the further development of society and technology, people's demand for energy is more and more urgent. However, the traditional energy can't meet the requirements of modern society for environmental quality, this more to promote solar and other renewable clean energy development and utilization. Application of solar energy is mainly done by photovoltaic power generation, the research on maximum power point tracking algorithm of photovoltaic system has an important practical significance to improve the conversion efficiency of solar energy.This paper analyses the maximum power point tracking of photovoltaic generation systems respectively from the principle and characteristics of photovoltaic battery, environmental conditions, principle of maximum power point tracking and control variables. First of all, after analyzed the influence of environmental conditions on the photovoltaic system, it is concluded that the characteristics of the existence of maximum power point; Secondly, it analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the traditional maximum power point tracking algorithm, and sets up the experimental platform according to the parameters of the photovoltaic cells. Finally, it proposes a MPPT algorithm of photovoltaic system with a combination of constant voltage starting and improved Perturb & Observe, which can adapt to light intensity and temperature changing rapidly and has strong dynamic and stability.Through the experiment of building model simulation and hardware platform, which verifies the proposed algorithm can accurately keep track of the maximum output power of system under transient and shadow conditions in the environment, and which provides certain theoretical basis for an application and research on MPPT of photovoltaic generation system.
