Powertrain is one of the main sources that bring vibration to an automobile. The vibration that comes from powertrain is mainly transmitted to driver's cabinet by its body, which does an enormous impact on comforting driver's feeling and vehicle's NVH. On one hand, linked bracket, one of the most important components in the powertrain mount system, is the connection between powertrain and body of vehicle, which must have enough strength to keep it safety mounted on its body. One the other hand, mount bracket should have high mode to avoid resonance with connected components. Therefore, designing a reasonable and functional linked bracket is one of the most significant keys in powertrain mount system development.First of all, the article gives a reasonable analysis on the phenomenon of vehicle transmission case linked bracket cracks in running test. A mathematical equation of motion in the mount system is established according to the Lagrange equation. Mechanical model is also established to simulation analyzing, which gives a result of load cases data. And by HyperMesh, MSC Nastran and HyperView, bracket's strength and mode are simulated to evaluate whether parts meet the requirements or not.Secondly, topology analyzing is carried on the bracket to find the most effective optimizing solution by using Optistruct of Hyper Works software. According to the topology results, designer can optimize bracket's structure, then manufacture the best product.Finally, series of tests are carried on the brackets, including MTS bed test on parts' durability and extreme cracking. And car-running test should be taken to evaluate NVH properties when brackets are assembled on a vehicle. All testing results that are transmitted to vehicle factory to verify whether the bracket is strong enough and avoids resonating, which proves the optimizing structure can be functional.The research in this article indicates the optimizing method of bringing a big promotion on mount bracket' properties, which can be used on other components on vehicles.
