Three coordinate measuring machine, which has the advantages of high efficiency, high precision and convenient measurement, has become the most important part of manufacturing industry. This paper provides a theoretical basis for improving the measurement accuracy by analyzing the design and error of three coordinate measuring machine. The main research contents are as follows:The advantages and disadvantages of the three coordinate measuring machine are introduced, and the structure of the high reliability and accuracy is introduced. The working principle of the measuring system, the transmission system, the grating system, the balance mechanism, the control system and the measuring head system are analyzed.Based on INVENTOR 3D software, the 3D modeling of the three coordinate measuring machine is carried out, through the finite element analysis method, static analysis and modal analysis of the overall framework, through the static analysis can understand the overall and X, Y, Z three directions of deformation size, modal analysis can know the overall framework of the dynamic characteristics, calculated the natural frequency and amplitude of the first six, its static characteristics and dynamic characteristics to meet the accuracy requirements.The main error sources of the three coordinate measuring machine are analyzed, and the structural deformation caused by the operation of the three coordinate measuring machine is analyzed.
