Besides, the growing number of people shopping online in China drives the rapid development of logistics industry; the fast growing amount of private ownership of cars recent years has evidently showed the improvement of the quality of people’s lives, and the released policy on the free charge of passenger car during official holidays, all of which lead to the expressway vehicle capacity near its saturation. The volume of traffic now is completely beyond the designed and planed expressway traffic capacity. Therefore, exploring and studying the expressway traffic capacity as well as reasonably planning and improving expressway road network construction are the focus of present researchIn a period of present and future, the social economy of project influencing area is in a stage of rapid development. The traffic volume on Dangjin expressway will maintain its high growth rate. With the boost of urbanization level of areas along the line, the town population will constantly increase and thus inevitably lead to the increase of regional travel times and the volume of traffic in regional traffic line. In the areas along the line, except the continued expansion of central city scale, the urbanization level growth is also very fast in medium and small towns, which consequently brings the increase of traffic volume. The great increase of the traffic volume is completely due to machinery automation of regional rapid development and the effects of national automobile industry and consumption policy. And with people’s more diverse trip purposes, the needs of higher transportation services and higher demands on every index in regional traffic, recently, the fact that Dangjin expressway has reached its saturation in traffic status and conditions makes it unable to adapt to future transportation development.This paper conducts qualitative and quantitative analysis for the issue of traffic capacity, using the method of combining theory with practice to deepen discussions and research In detail, this paper firstly outlines the basic theory of expressway traffic capacity, then analyzes influencing factors and correction factors of traffic capacity,and gives a systematical analysis and introduction of expressway service level. In addition, according to the practical measured traffic volume on Dangjin expressway,this paper analyzes actual traffic capacity of Dangjin expressway using the theoretical knowledge introduced in this paper, finally predicts future traffic volume on Dangjin expressway, and addresses the whole highway road network planning by analyzing traffic capacity of Dangjin expressway. |
