| Nowadays, the number of parametric design and practice is growing up in the field of architecture. Parametric design has been applied to "form-finding" of architectural form, to generate architectural space, structural components, building skin and so on. Currently, parametric skin has won attention with its complex organic form. But there is still lack of research on the design of parametric skin in the field of architecture.In this paper, the research on the generation of parametric skin is based on the software platform of Grasshopper. Starting from the parametric design logic of Grasshopper, this paper analysis a large number cases of parametric skin, summarizes the generation method of parametric skin, divides the generation process of parametric skin into three basic steps: The first step is to divide the whole skin into meshes, including single-stage division and multi-stage division; the second step is to control the morphology of skin cell, including standardized unit module and non-standardized unit module; the third step is to form the organization of the skin cells, including uniform distribution, point attractor, curve attractor, grayscale map,random organization, iterative fractal, and so on. Meanwhile, this paper uses the software of Grasshopper in conjunction with above generation method and process to analysis the complex domestic cases, tracing the texture and methods of parametric skin, reappearing the generation of parametric skin.Finally, this paper summarizes the parametric skin, presents the limitations and prospects in the future growth of parametric skin. |
