As a key subsystem of large caliber artillery system,ammunition automatic loading mechanism has a vital influence on raising firing rate and overall performance of the artillery.At present,there is still a large gap between domestic and foreign development in terms of technology level,especially in the aspect of propellant loading system,loading process was mainly done by people,which leads to decreasing firing rate directly,degrading the performance of artillery as a whole.Based on this background,how to improve propellant auto-loading performance was researched in this paper.The overall layout and main mechanisms of auto-loading system were designed through adequate research on relevant systems.Firstly,starting with overall layout and working principle of auto-loading system,the relevant location relationships of mechanisms were arranged in order to make full use of interior space of gun turret,which results in the decrease in whole structure size and weight of turret.Second of all,the overall design of layout and structure of the propellant storehouse was done,and the storing cartridge and connection component was designed in order to increase total number of the propellant in the storehouse reasonably.At the same time,the related parameters of power source were calculated,confirming final drive type and related parameters as a result.Ammunition feeding and transmission mechanisms were designed so as to increase the movement overlaps of mechanisms and decrease the time and displacement of transmission at the same time,making it more steady and reliable to transmit ammunition together with the coordination mechanism.Finally,the whole model was established by using CATIA software,then imported into ADAMS software to carry out kinematics analysis on the main moving mechanisms of auto-loading system.The kinematics simulation results were analyzed and presented through a set of ammunition auto-loading actions,the rationality and feasibility of mechanism design is validated combined with theoretical calculation.
