Arc tooth cylindrical gears, which are in all kinds of mechanical products in recent years, is promising a new type of gear. Because of its arc tooth line, it can offer many characteristics of stronger stable transmission, higher efficiency, lower noise and longer life.Arc tooth cylindrical gears can be used as a substitute for helical teeth and herringbone gear, overloaded used in high speed. It is a kind of relatively stable and highly efficient transmission parts, also referred to as today's cars, heavy load machinery is one of the main transmission components such as high speed, high precision equipment. Arc tooth cylindrical gear pump and arc tooth cylindrical gear reducer are widely used in engineering machinery, transportation, aerospace and instrumentation, and many other industries.Due to the uniqueness of arc tooth cylindrical gears tooth profile and its transmission, the advantages of some scholars to study it very early. but due to the limitation of processing technology, the tooth profile parameters indecisiveness,carrying capacity research still not enough in-depth, especially the gear machining method and machining devices have not been able to get a good solution, is likely to be due to improper choice in the application of the transmission scheme and meshing parameters, resulting in key technical error. Therefore, in the design and precision manufacturing control the quality and properties of arc tooth cylindrical gears is very difficult. How can you make arc tooth cylindrical gears implementation is simple, rapid,high efficiency, the application of optimization, has become a pressing work.Arc tooth cylindrical gears were introduced in this paper the development history and research status at home and abroad, the research direction of its main parameters and processing. Based on gear engagement principle, using the theory of differential geometry is deduced from the tooth surface equation of arc tooth cylindrical gears,conjugate tooth surface equation, the gear pair meshing line equation and tooth contact lines expression, reveals the characteristics of meshing of gears in the transmission process. Proposed arc tooth cylindrical gears has long tooth contact lines and larger meshing contact ratio, and the gear pair meshing geostationary is good. On the basis of the analysis of bearing capacity, the tooth face contact stress calculation formula is derived and the calculation of the bending stress of gear tooth equation, using SolidWorks 3D shape modeling, with COSMOS Works contact analysis. And comparing with the ordinary cylindrical gears, expounds the reason of its bearing capacity increase.The forming principle of arc tooth cylindrical gear tooth surface, the existing processing method of arc tooth cylindrical gears were analyzed, and its deficiency is put forward the ideal of arc tooth cylindrical gears machining method, the two-way tooth surface envelope method.Believe that, with the deepening of the research work, arc tooth cylindrical gears will constantly be improved and show more obvious advantages and broad application prospects in gear transmission.
