China is a country in which earthquake happened frequently with wide ranges.More over, there do exist some ship locks in earthquake areas. Thus,China becomes one of the worst countries which suffer from earthquake. Before designing the ship locks which were located in such dangerous areas,it should be considered that the size, the function as well as the significance of the particular engineering, then doing some anti-seismic checking calculations,to protect the safety of this engineering. The ship lock with double-hinged has many merits, such as the smaller plate thickness, lower cost, etc. However, the stress of the base plate is sensitive to the deflections of both sides gates, even can not adapt to this settlement. In terms of over come this construction's weakness,it is still fundamental to study the dynamic analysis. This hot issue is also paid much attention by loads of engineers.Below are the main researches and achievements:(1)Study the present achievements in lock chamber structure on soft foundation, and the development of finite element methods in this areas. Then making sure the necessary of this research.(2)Based on the realistic condition, establish the 3-D model to reflect the interaction between soil and construction.(3)Identify the self-vibration characteristics of double-hinged ship lock.(4)Both of the response spectrum and time-history method show that it is the top of chamber which suffers from the horizontal maximum displacement amplitude and acceleration response,so that it appears the largest excitation force and it is more easily to be damaged.(5)Should use the suitable approaches to design the chamber of ship lock according to the engineering characteristics.
