Nowadays, the combination of cities and buildings is quite dynamically, as a result of it, there are more and more urban complexities which are large scale and multi-functional. In the information era, the online shopping has a quite huge shock to the traditional market because of the convenience, but the feeling of people by joining some sort of activities cannot be replaced by the internet, experiential shopping starts to draw attention gradually. For this intention, the modern urban complexities should be designed to bring people the enjoyable experience by the multi-functional spaces, to attract people come out of home and participate the real commercial activities then get the irreplaceable experience, to satisfy both the physical and emotional requirements of human, then bringing the more attractive shopping experience to promote consumption.this paper will focuses on how to create the space of urban complexity according to the behavioral psychology, by researching how to create the experienced space to make people obtain the enjoyable experience in the urban complexities. In the experienced space, human's behavioral psychology is the base of 'experience'. Researching the demands of human behavioral psychology to the shopping spaces, creating the enjoyable urban complexity spaces, then to promote people to have joyful experience when they are in buildings, furthermore, to encourage people consuming or participating in the building, then the city will be more vibrant and economy will grow.This essay has six chapters: The first chapter is the introduction to state the background and the meaning of the research, comparable researching on the current situations in China and other countries, then make the conclusion to indicate the research fields. Based on the introduction, the chapter 2 will concentrate on the research of the characters and elements of urban complexity, this chapter will also demonstrate the result of the survey, after the analyze and conclude the main challenges and problems of urban complexity in China, to clarify the main research fields. Chapter 3 and 4 will discuss the behavioral psychology of people when they are in the urban complexity, combine with the feature of modern consumption to analyze the influence of behavioral psychology on the environment design. Based on the requirements of behavioral psychology to experienced spaces, Chapter 5 and 6 discussed design methodology of the environment in the urban complexity and concluded the designmethodology, the design methods are also demonstrated in the references. In the end, this essay will draw the conclusion of research and design methodology, for the aim to provide theoretic design principles of urban complexity.
