A Study Of The Urban Square Space On The View Of Behavioral Experience

The modern urban square is built not for god, not for the emperor, and also not for the leader, but for the normal people who are using and living in the space. The urban square is one of the most important public spaces in the city. People are the owners of the activities in the urban square. There is a definite relationship between urban square space and people's activities. So how to humanize the urban square and how to infuse it with vitality for the people's benefit, and how to create a sense of space in the city of urban square, this is the new consideration for today's designer.This paper is based on the relationship between space and people's behavior in normal life and environment and analyses the activities of normal people in normal places. Centered on the dynamic between the urban square space and the behavior experience, this paper arrives at a theoretical model to approach urban square space and behavior experience.This paper is divided into five sections according to the theory of environmental behavior and theory of environmental psychology, with a proposed logical sequence: From theory to practice, form general to specific.Firstly, this paper stems from the analysis of basic theory. It analyzes the definition of the urban square space, behavior experience, the elements of space and the type of behaviors. It is the theoretical model underpinning the whole paper. Secondly, this paper explores the relationship between the urban square space and behavior experience. It categorizes and qualifies different behavioral experiences in different people, different spaces and different feelings. The logical relationship between behavioral experience and urban square is that both of them determine each other and both of them rely on each other. And thirdly, this paper produces a theoretical result on the study of behavior experience and urban square. This part analyzes the fundamentals, the principles and the solutions for the theory of urban square space. It also posits the three kinds of approaches for the study, that is adjustment, integrate and interactive. At the end of the paper, the author takes Wuyi square as an example. It aims to link the theory and practice, from a designer's perspective.This paper aims to put forward a methodological basis for the study and construction of urban squares, and the local squares of Changsha. It is expected that the results will bear significance for the application of theory into practice.
