The form of combined retaining wall is diverse, such as SMW retaining wall, micro steel tube reinforced cement-soil retaining wall, wooden post reinforced cement-soil retaining wall and so on are the common supporting structures. This article largely focuses on studying the stress mechanism and engineering application of stiffening piles embedded cement-soil combined retaining wall. As an original form of foundation protection, stiffening piles embedded cement-soil combined retaining wall is quite economical and practical. Combining concrete reinforced rod with cement-soil makes the whole stiffness of retaining wall increase, so that it can withstand greater water and earth pressures as well as safeguard the foundation pit excavation. While cement-soil so the excavation within the stiffened composite cement-soil combined retaining wall has unparalleled advantages and wide application future in foundation pit of basement under two tiers because of construction technology of single, low cost, low pollution, and also has excellent performance of impounding water and controlling deformation?So far it is rarely seen any researches about this supporting form. its stress mechanism and design methods are not mature enough, although this original retaining structure has a great deal of benefits. this paper combines the previous research results about combined retaining wall to systematically study materials performance, stress mechanism and practical application impacts of stiffening piles embedded cement-soil combined retaining wall. Concrete work results are as fellows:(1) This paper systematically summarize the mechanical property, criterion of yield and failure, constitutive models of cement-soil and concrete.(2)Carrying on the deep discussion into interaction mechanism and mechanical property between cement-soil and concrete, provide a reference for the internal force calculation and design methods of combined retaining wall.(3)Based on a practice engineering project in Foshan, to establish simulation with MIDAS GTS NX. Then using contrast between finite element calculations and field monitoring data, to summarize the mechanical and deformation characteristics for foundation pit during the excavation.After exploration, the surported effect of stiffening piles embedded cement-soil combined retaining wall is worthy of recognition. This combined structure effectively control the deformation of foundation pit, with excellent mechanical performance.
