In recent years, as the increasingly urgent development of marine resources and the international territorial waters dispute is becoming increasingly fierce, humans need some new types of ships with higher-performance. High-performance ship becomes much more concerned than before. At the same time, due to the rapid development of computer technology, CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics, CFD) has developed rapidly. CFD, due to its short design cycle, low cost and high precision, has become the primary method for scientists to design new ship in recent years. This paper, based on CFD software, discussed the hydrodynamic properties of trimaran in different configurations.Firstly, the numerical calculation of the hydrostatic resistance and navigational status was done for different configurations of the trimaran. Comparative analysis of the experimental data and the results of numerical simulation was taken. Then was the relative error. When splashing occurs, the relative error is large; The navigational status of Trimarans significantly changes when volume Froude number is large enough. When volume Froude number is very high, it would be better to unlock some corresponding degrees of freedom.Secondly, the total resistance in regular waves of different configurations trimaran was numerically calculated. The total resistance in regular waves has a peak value when encounter frequency is in a certain range. The total resistance in regular waves is almost equivalent when encounter frequency is lower or higher than this frequency range. The main cause that result to the difference of the total resistance in regular waves of different configurations might be the difference of "pressure resistance". The values of respective resistance components are relative stable when encounter frequency is lower or higher enough. Finally, the zero speed rolling motion of different configurations trimaran was numerically calculated. Roll RAO tends to constant when encounter frequency tends to zero. Roll RAO increased first and then decreased as the encounter increased in a higher frequency range. What's more, the horizontal force has the same trend with roll RAO. And these two curves have the same peak point and same inflection.
