All along, explanation sign is the main way to provide exhibit information for museum visitors, but it always exists the problems of complicated contents and monotone forms. With the development of modern digital technology, the traditional information display mode has been unable to meet the needs of visitors.Currently, many museums combine two-dimensional code, touch screen, infrared sensors and other modern technology to provide new information display modes, but still lack a special mode for children. Children are the main visiting groups of museums. It is very important to create a better interactive experience for the children when they interpreting the exhibit information. At present, domestic museums generally lack the special guiding mode for groups of children, so the design and research of museum guiding products for children is a new research area.Firstly, this paper conducts investigation and research for the guiding problems exist in children’s museum tour, with research locations in Dalian Natural History Museum, target group of children within 5-8 years old. Then, this study conducts field visits for several museum interactive facilities, carries out detailed observations and interviews for children of target group, through observation, questionnaires and other research methods, also refers to existing children’s interactive electronic products, combines technology applications and fashion trends of current high-tech products, then sums up user pref and product design factors, finally designs a museum guiding product for children. Combined with the application of VR technology, through new product format and interactive way, the final product breaks the single static text presented forms, enhances the entertainment and fun of display modes, enables children to interpret exhibit information in psychological and sensory terms deeply and create more interactive experience and emotional experience and generate pleasant psychological feelings while learning exhibit information.
