| The ship energy saving technology has got more and more attention due to the pressure given by the new ship energy efficiency standards. Put in front of the propeller, the Pre-Shrouded Vanes can midify the flow uniformity and the efficiency of the propeller with reasonable design and installation position. It is very convenient to do the installation operation both for the ship on business and new ship, the application scope of which is expanding fast.Pre-Shrouded Vanes work in front of the propeller and is affected by the hydrostatic pressure and fluctuating pressure induced by water and the propeller. Reasonable structure design can avoid structural damage due to the static or cyclic loading. With the fast computer hardware renewal and the improvement of algorithm of numerical simulation, it is more convenient to conduct performance analysis of the Pre-Shrouded Vanes by numerical simulation method, which can optimize the design parameters based on the results of the numerical simulation, thus the design cost can be greatly saved. In this paper, commercial software FLUENT and ANSYS are used to research the strength and vibration perfornance of the Pre-Shrouded Vanes under the action of water. Numerical simulation results show that the proposed method can accurately obtain the flow field distribution around the vanes. The pressure load is converted to the actual vanes and the calculation results show that the strength meets the design requirements. By computating the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the Pre-Shrouded Vanes with considering the added masses, it can be found that the installation of central support part can increase the frequency of the Pre-Shrouded Vanes effectively, and the strength of the support part and draft have little effect on the frequencies when the Pre-Shrouded Vanes is below the water. The method used in this paper can provide reference and basis for pre-design and structural optimization of the Pre-Shrouded Vanes and help to get the best performance. |
