With the continuous expansion of the scale of Nanchang power grid, substation quantity increases year by year, the peak load is gradually increased, the reactive power voltage regulator also increase their workload, if only monitor artificial pressure, heavy workload, and the effect is not ideal, the voltage qualification rate is relatively low. To build a AVC system to improve the regulation of reactive power and voltage level, in order to improve the management level of Nanchang of voltage and reactive power, so as to enhance the quality of electric energy.This paper introduces in detail the application of Nanchang Power Grid AVC system, from the control principle,control strategy, system structure and application effects are discussed. The use of Nanchang Power Grid AVC system is three level voltage soft partition based control mode, which is the three level control of voltage and reactive power optimization based on the calculation of voltage and reactive power optimization in general, the regional power grid; two level control is the control oriented region partition, each partition of the internalcontrol of the substation relative decoupling, control objectives can be a global optimization for each partitionseparately control; local control level control for the stations, including substation control and power control, thesubstation control including direct control and control station through the integrated control in 2 ways.At the same time, according to the current distribution network reactive power, considering the 220 k V, 110 k V and 35 k V substation reactive power and reserve, considering the voltage qualified, the trend of more limitedsecurity constraints, the minimum network loss as the optimization objectives, optimization of reactive power and voltage are the whole network optimal target value.The system has been applied, the operation effect is good, can greatly reduce the manual workload controlvoltage, the grid area of Nanchang Nanchang,improve the quality of voltage power grid, reducing the power loss, made a loss reduction and energy savingbenefits are obvious.
