Power transformer is an important part of power system, and the failure of the power system will cause significant economic losses and even serious consequences. Transformer windings deformation is an important factor affecting the safe operation of the transformer. The hanging core maintenance of transformer are usually longer than a few months, not only consumes a lot of manpower and material resources, also affect the reliable operation of the system. Therefore, the operation reliability can be improved by the test and diagnosis of the winding deformation.Asoneofthemethodsofdiagnosing thewindingdeformation, the frequencyresponseanalysismethod is presentlybeingwidelyusedinmany countriesbesides China. It's mainly depended on the comparison of frequency response curves and have no uniform criteria to diagnose winding deformation. This dissertation discussed a type of testing system that is capable of discovering the deformation of large power transformation windingsaccording to the theory of frequency response analysis. This dissertation consists of five chapters.Chapter 1 and 2 introduces the different kinds of cores and windings of transformersand the cause and effect of the deformation. At the same time,it discusses the domestic and international researches at present on deformation ofpower transformer windings.Pointing out the primary problems and introduces the contents of this dissertation.Chapter 3 discusses the theories and the simulation softwarewhich is used to test winding deformation. It builds the distributed parameter model of the transformer winding and the simulation of winding deformation. In the last chapter, the whole text is summarized andsome questions to be perfected are brought forward.
