The method of computer-aided design for mechanical system's kinematic scheme is studied in this paper. The state transformation model of the system is built with the characteristic state space method to discuss the configuration synthesis, scale synthesis and motion analysis. At the same time, the method of automatically drawing kinematic diagram is put forward to realize the digital expression of scheme. At last, through analyzing the algorithm logic, the corresponding design software for kinematic scheme has been developed to realize the computer-aided design.The state space method of the mechanical system' kinematic scheme design is researched and developed further. The state space model of the mechanical system is established by analyzing the component's kinstate and expand the characteristics of the state space method. The running state parameters of the active component are define and the transformation model for input and output states of mechanical system is derived by analyzing motion state transformation of each mechanism unit. With the state space method, the kinematic scheme design is transformed into the path planning from the initial state to the final state. Using the state space method for the mechanical system's kinematic scheme, the configuration synthesis, scale synthesis and motion analysis are carried out, respectively.The automated generation method of the mechanical kinematic diagram is researched based on the result of the configuration synthesis and scale synthesis. The basic graphics library is established by selecting the basic unit as drawing primitives. The mechanical kinematic diagram is obtained by connecting the basic unit with the transformation of coordinates according to the actual input and output axis and adjust the pose and size of mechanical unit. The process of drawing is streamlined by means of the software CAD to get the automatic drawing of the mechanical kinematic diagram.The design process of configuration design, scale synthesis and motion analysis are analyzed based on the related theory of design schemes of mechanical system. The algorithm logic is studied to obtain the corresponding drawing flow diagram.The design software of mechanical kinematic scheme is developed on the platform, visual studio 2012. This software is divided into four function modules:configuration design, dimension design, motion analysis and diagram generation. The data is shared between the adjacent modules to get the configuration, the scale, the movement performance and the kinematic diagram of mechanism that respectively satisfy the design requirements. Take the press design as an example to make the kinematic scheme design, thus verifying the feasibility of the software.
