A method on computer aided design of configuration scheme of gear trains is studied in the thesis. First, Based on state space method, the state characteristics model of gear trains is established. Then, the related theory of configuration scheme design of gear trains is studied. Finally, the computer aided design of configuration scheme of gear trains is realized, and a corresponding software of gear trains configuration scheme design is successfully developed.Based on state space method, the state characteristics model of gear trains is established in the thesis. First, the state characteristic vector which can accurately describe the characteristic information of components is defined. At the same time, basic unit prototypes are confirmed based on the unit analysis method, and corresponding state equilibrium equations are established. Second, the transformation relations from state equilibrium equations to state transform equations are defined based on the theory of basic units of gear trains coming from basic unit prototypes. Meanwhile, the configurations of basic unit are confirmed, and corresponding state characteristic models which can realize the transformation from input characteristic vector to output characteristic vector are established. Third, the connection types between the gear train basic units including series connection and parallel connection are defined, and corresponding connection constraint models which can realize the state characteristic vector’s transmission between basic units are established. Finally, state characteristic model and connection constraint model jointly constitute state characteristics model of gear trains.The design theory of configuration scheme of gear trains based on the combination model is studied in the thesis. First, the key problem of the generation of gear trains combination model is the decomposition of state transformation matrix. Since the decomposition of state transformation matrix is accompanied by the expansion of basic unit, and the expansion of basic unit is the inverse process of the combination between basic units, the combination types between basic units including series combination and parallel combination and corresponding combination model are defined. Also, the decomposition types and rules of state transformation matrix are confirmed. Then, the generation process of configuration scheme of gear trains is confirming the type of basic unit based on the combination model. Also, all the basic units must satisfy the constraints of configuration scheme of gear trains(Join Condition, Coaxial Condition, Planet Carrier Connection Condition and Characteristics of Gear Trains). Finally, solving the rotating speed and torque of the activity components is the premise in the gear trains configuration scheme analysis which includes speed ratio characteristic, power flow type, the relationship between input and output axis.In order to be convenient for computer programming, algorithmic logic based on the design theory of configuration scheme of gear trains is studied in the thesis. Then, all variables contained in the algorithm logic are introduced. Finally, gear trains configuration scheme design software is developed with MATLAB and introduced with the configuration scheme design of 7MW wind power gearbox. Gear trains configuration scheme design software makes the scheme design of gear trains visual, which is convenient to do scheme design for designer.
