In the 21st century, driven by the dual policy and technology, China's wind power rapidly developed.However, wind power because of its volatility and uncertainty, large-scale and network will bring challenges to the safe and stable operation of the grid. With the gradual expansion of wind power, power grid peak regulation, frequency regulation will become more and more difficult, that also increases the demand for spinning reserve capacity of the power grid, then reduces the power generation efficiency of the grid. Energy storage system as a flexiblepower during time scale, which has a characteristics ofenergydynamic absorbed and timely released,the energy storage system as an auxiliary devicein wind power farm, the output power of the wind farm can be more controllable, and enhances the level of stability, for the effective solve the stability problems ofthe wind power fluctuations on the system offers the chance,which becomes the research focus now. The article based on wind power characteristics, power characteristics, the storage characteristics, the current frequency regulation market economy economic Assessment,under conditions of large-scale wind power grid,studiedthe needs assessment of energy storage system as anauxiliary means when involved infrequency regulation,the study are summarized as follows:1. Using the historical wind data of Zhangbei wind farm, and built a characterized Index System of wind power at the time and frequencydomain to assess the wind power fluctuation characteristics. Meanwhile, by selecting the appropriate filtering method to collect power component that suitable for evaluation wind power fluctuations.Finally, build simulation model of power system, and make analysis of its frequency regulation theory to explain the influence of wind power fluctuationson the frequency of system from the combination of theory and simulation,then quantified that.2. Construction simulation model of energy storage power when participate infrequency regulation.Under environment of wind power grid, simulating and analyze grid frequency fluctuation feature when energy storage power participated inprimary frequency regulation. Meanwhile,by building the general method of capacity configurationof the energy storage calculating and comparing thecapacity requirements of traditional frequency regulation with energy storage or not, which demonstrate the technology necessity of energy storage power participate in grid frequency regulation under large-scale wind power grid conditions,3. Constructingeconomic model of energy storage power in full life cycle under frequency regulation application scenario, while, in order to optimize the net present value ofenergy storage power when meet grid power deviation, the energy storage power charge and discharge operation should be reasonable controlled,and analysis the feasibility of energy storage power when participation in grid quickly frequency regulation from an economic point of view.4. According to researched content about technical necessityand economic feasibility of energy storage involved in large-scale wind power, based on MATLAB/GUI platform to develop appropriate software to enable research results like the data results and graphics to real-time visualization.
