Green BIM has been putted forward with the wide applications of BIM and green building in the construction industry. The data sharing and integration of BIM could provide building design, consulting, evaluating and other aspects with strong data base and ability of information analysis and processing. However, the interoperability between BIM modeling software and energy consumption simulation software is still to be improved and strengthened. The research is focus on the interoperability of building energy consumption based on Green BIM, and analyses the problems generated in its process. Then a Java procedure which feasibility and veracity tested by practical projects was edited to solve these issues. This paper translates the concept of Green BIM and concludes five hindrances of the development of Green BIM with summarizing the present project cases:(?)the deficiency of Green BIM management software of controlling building materials and renewable energy sources in the project life-cycle.(?)BIM technology pays more attention to the phase of design and construction than reconstruction projects and the period of maintenance and demolition.( ?)The modeling integrated nonstandard information to the energy consumption simulation.(?)The delay of coordination and data sharing among different participants in the whole process.(?)Incomplete data between building information modeling and energy consumption simulation. The survey summarizes the problems of interoperability based on Green BIM and concludes that gbXML is the best format applied between building information modeling and energy consumption simulation, via the comparison of the modeling effect converted by IFC, gbXML and DXF. Besides, it also puts forward a workflow which improves the DOE-2 file by Java, aiming to realize the modeling established by Revit could be analysed in eQUEST directly, and then verifies the accuracy of the results calculated by it.On the basis of an residential project in Jiangxi Province, combining the workflow referred in the preceding paragraph, this paper changed three factors(thearea ratio of window to wall, the material of retaining structure and the building orientation) to evaluate their influence of heating and air conditioning energy consumption respectively.
