In order to meet the transformations of environmental protection facilities of coal fired power plants, and solve the problem of high electric consumption and scrambling for air and so on,We reform the flue gas system and its driving fans.In this paper, the research objects are induced draft fans, booster fan and flue gas system for 600 MW thermal power generation unit. We use method of combination of field test and theoretical calculation, conduct system testing and analysis of dates, and analyze the problems in the system and the cause. On this basis, combined with the actual situation, we determine the transformation system parameters; formulate two sets of reform schemes. Demonstrate rationality of the reform scheme of integration of induced draft fan and booster fan from two aspects of reliability and economy. High efficiency moving blade adjustable axial fans are applied. Flue gas pipelines near the booster fan are optimized. Bypass flue gas pipelines of desulphurization system are removed. Denitration System is increased. After transformation, we carry out field performance tests of the new fans, compare and analyze dates collected from three aspects, such as safety, economy and environmental protection requirements.Research results show that: 1) Schemes are feasible. The new fans completely meet boiler operating condition requirements. 2) The reform effect is good. Under normal condition of boiler load, fan adjustment performance is excellent, even under the condition of RB. Operating points away from the stall curve. Parallel operation fans output balance. Problem of the early stage is effectively solved. System's safety and reliability enhance. 3) Under the condition of 600 MW, the efficiency of the new fans is 79.2%, it improved by about 14% compared with before transformation, after optimization of the flue gas pipeline, resistance reduction is 70 Pa. If it convers in accordance with the front pressure of the transformation, power consumption of the new induced fans reduced by about 20%. Power saving effect is obvious. 4) The environmental parameters have reached the expected targets.
