| To solve the growing traffic problem in the center area of metropolises in China, it is very important to change the traditional driving travel mode into using public transit. The essay combine with the trend that the urban infrastructure, such as ring expressway and urban rail transit, has great development in big cities, raising a new Park and Ride mode which is different from traditional ones, these P&R facilities serve P&R between ring expressway and urban rail transit station.The continuous and rapid economic growth cause frequent economic exchanges between cities and the ring expressway is beginning to undertake more urban traffic because the urban area is expanding. Based on these two points this P&R mode regard the ring expressway as the umbrella of the urban road network to intercept traffic flow between cities as much as possible and use this new P&R mode to let the travelers in to the center city area.Inspired by the classical P&R attracting area model and combining with the attraction feature of P&R facility serve ring expressway and urban rail transit, the paper change the “area attraction” model of the traditional P&R facility that affect the local city area into “point attraction” model which means this kind of P&R facility can attract traffic flow from one or more expressway exit as a point. From another point of view the demand for this kind of P&R facility is “point produced” by each expressway exit. Using distance and azimuth as two factors to build a Potential P&R Users Ratio Model to predict the final ratio of P&R users who are willingly to use P&R facility if not obstructed.The demand for the new P&R mode is a very important factor for the site selection of the P&R facilities. The paper collect the historical traffic data of every access of the ring expressway and use Trend extrapolation to predict the traffic flow. Using MATLAB to do Logarithmic curve fitting to predict the traffic flow of every access in 2020 combine with the Potential P&R Users Ratio Model to make prediction of P&R demand of every P&R facility pre-location.Using Element Evaluation Model to make evaluation of the numerous factors that affect to locate the P&R facilities, the paper choose 7 evaluation index belonging to P&R demand, P&R reliability and construction land demand 3 categories and use matter element evaluation model to evaluate the factors which affect the P&R facility site selection. These evaluation index take the evaluation index for common P&R facility site selection for reference and make some adjustment which are more suitable for the new P&R mode and they are also easy to quantify. Meanwhile, using entropy weight method to give every index a weight accord to the variation level of the index can avoid disturbing by subjective judgement.Taking Xi’an to have a try to set P&R facilities serve P&R between ring expressway and urban rail transit station gain experience for other metropolises. Using Stated Preference survey combined with Revealed Preference survey to get the data needed in the prediction model and determining the classical field of the element model refer to the related specification and actual situation of Xi’an. The final selected P&R facility site reach the actual P&R demand and meet the conditions of P&R facility site selection. |
