At present, China's rapid economic and social development, a huge construction tasks, various types of large-span, complex structure, the huge investment, versatile bridge project is increasing. As an important part of the substructure of bridge engineering construction, cofferdam construction is the first deepwater bridge construction, but also a very crucial step, its high construction cost, difficult, long duration, high safety requirements determined by the characteristics of the We must attach great importance to the preparation of its construction program. Because different construction schemes differ in terms of personnel organization, construction processes, materials and machinery selection, etc., will directly affect the project cost, schedule, quality and safety. For this, paper cofferdam construction program Nanxi Bridge as the empirical study, using the basic principles of value engineering carried out more in-depth study of its construction scheme, the main conclusions drawn are:(1) According to the characteristics of the cofferdam construction, applicability, advantages and disadvantages of common cofferdam construction program were analyzed. And based on the core idea of value engineering principles and cofferdam construction scheme in the pursuit of unity of purpose, that is, "to minimize the cost of investment, maximum output and make the products meet the user's functional requirements" to prove the value engineering the basic principle of the feasibility of constructing plans.(2) Proposed six indicators system cofferdam construction of the merits of the evaluation program: that is the construction convenience; construction costs; project duration; environmental impact; material recovery and utilization of safe and secure.(3) To prepare and optimize Nanxi Bridge cofferdam construction scheme as empirical study, obtained after cofferdam construction scheme and put into implementation. Engineering Practice has proved that the use of value engineering principle and preferably improve cofferdam construction program, with significant cost savings and optimal allocation of resources results.
