The cyclone separator is a device which is used to separate the particles from the gas phase by using the centrifugal force in the case of a rotating air flow.This machine has advantages of simple structure,convenient operation and maintenance,low cost and resistant high pressure and high temperature,etc..So it is widely used in mining,environmental protection,chemical industry,metallurgy and other industries.The purpose of this paper is to study the cyclone separator in XLP/B type.Which has the advantages of the separation performance better and applied widely.The aim of research is to simulate and analyze it,to analyze the relationship between the separation performance and parameters through single factor or two factors,to find a group of relatively excellent parameters,to optimize the structure of it and evaluate the bypass cyclone after optimization.Specific studies are as follows: Firstly,its three-dimensional model is carried out by three-dimensional software;the numerical simulation is carried out by the fluid software.Secondly,after choosing the appropriate simulation methods,the four parameters influencing its performance will be selected and studied by numerical simulation.At last the numerical simulation and the analysis of velocity field,pressure filed and tracking of particle will also be studied in the separation.The effects of sizes of particle and inlet velocity on its separation efficiency and pressure drop were studied in detail.And the relationship between the diameter and the insertion depth of the exhaust pipe and its separation efficiency and pressure drop were studied.Under the operation parameters and the structure parameters,through the study of its performance deeply,the rules of changes of the separation efficiency and pressure drop were found.With the research of the curve of its performance and the law of the influence of each parameter on its performance,a set of relative optimal parameters were found.That is the inlet velocity is 18m/s,the insertion depth and the diameter of the exhaust pipe are 165 mm.The structures of the original product were optimized,and the 3D model of the optimized separator will be established.And the model will be meshed and numerical simulated.At the same inlet velocity(18m/s),it is found that,the separation efficiency of the optimized bypass cyclone is improved by 15.1% in the range of the actual pressure drop change,and this result can provides reference for the enterprise to improve similar products.
