As a new type of green renewable energy, solar energy has the advantages of large reserves, economy, clean and environmental protection, etc. At present, energy and environment problems appear constantly, solar energy is becoming more and more popular with people. Solar aircraft is a kind of aircraft that uses solar energy as a source of energy, which has a long cruise time, high flying height, can be flexible to perform multi tasks and clean and environmentally friendly features. Because of these advantages, solar powered aircraft has been the attention of many countries. The energy sources of solar powered aircraft is the airborne solar cell. Solar cells convert solar radiation into electrical energy, which can provide power support for the power system and control system of solar powered aircraft. However, due to the aircraft body surface area, load and other aspects of the restrictions, the number of solar panels that can be laid on a solar powered aircraft is limited. At the same time, the solar cell is a kind of nonlinear power, which output will change with the change of the external environment. And solar cell has the maximum power point under certain conditions. How to improve the utilization rate of solar cells and how to make solar cells work at the maximum power point always have a very important significance for the energy management of solar powered aircraft.In this paper, the overall structure of the solar energy system is analyzed, and the characteristics and requirements of the various components of the energy system are summarized and summarized. Then the output characteristics of solar cells were studied, and the effects of temperature and light on the output characteristics were analyzed. Through the above analysis, this paper designs a control system scheme, the scheme uses Buck topology as the main circuit of MPPT control, and uses the combination of DSP+CPLD as the control unit. Principle of maximum power point tracking using buck circuit and the characteristics of Buck circuit are analyzed in detail. According to the system design, the hardware circuit of the controller is designed, including control circuit, MPPT circuit, communication circuit and power circuit. And a MPPT controller was made to carry out the experiment. In the aspect of the control algorithm and software, through the experiments of the three commonly used MPPT algorithm, proposes an improved adaptive incremental conductance algorithm. By comparing with other algorithms, the tracking speed of this algorithm is faster, and the tracking accuracy is higher, which can effectively improve the efficiency of solar cells.
