Radon is an important carcinogen in room, and the level of indoor radon is related to potential radon concentration in soil, which is also called potential maximum radon concentration in soil. A model of dual-source method for measuring potential radon concentration in soil through radon concentration in shallow layer and arithmetic mean value of radon exhalation rate of soil surface has been established by our predecessors. And the model has been validated by tests on the soil store device. A fast method for measuring balanced radon concentration in shallow layer has been studied yet. And radon exhalation rate of soil surface can be obtained by fitting a time interval through double closed-loop model. Besides, NRL-?and NRE-? have been developed and they can be used for reliable measurement of radon concentration in soil and radon exhalation rate of soil surface.In order to export, analyze and manage the measurement data conveniently, and explore a convenient method for calculating balanced radon concentration in shallow layer, arithmetic mean value of radon exhalation rate of soil surface and potential radon concentration in soil, a LabVIEW based menu-driven user interface relying on personal computer is designed.To test the reliability of the model of dual-source method and select an appropriate depth when measure radon concentration in shallow layer,a series of field experimentations have been conducted one by one in clayey sand and sand. The study of experiment for measuring potential radon concentration in soil is conducted through comparison of measurement results between the dual-source method and the direct method.The debugged results of the SETUP show that: NRL-?and NRE-?can be controlled by the user interface; the measuring data can be read by and displayed on the user interface; the measuring data are saved in *.csv format, which can been handle by Microsoft Office Excel; the balanced radon concentration in shallow layer and the arithmetic mean value of radon exhalation rate of soil surface can be worked out by the user interface; potential radon concentration in soil can also be calculated with one-button quickly.The results of field experimentation show that: the model of dual-source method is applicative in both clayey sand and sand; the deviation between the model of dual-source and the direct method is acceptable when the depth is 0.5m in shallow layer.The efficiency of the measurement of potential radon concentration in soil can be improved by the user interface. The experiences and methods summed up by the field experimentations can also provide guidance for the measurement of potential radon concentration in soil in other places.
