A Study On The Behavioral Guidance Of Metaphorical Design In Mobile User Interface

Metaphor is one of the core elements of cognitive theory, as well as an important concept in design field. Especially in the mobile internet field, this cognitive approach allows us to more quickly integrate into the mobile internet life, to be more calmly in facing with complex software language. As a kind of mapping, metaphor plays an important role in man-machine communication.Under today’s condition that mobile internet design is gradually mature and user experience design rises, metaphor has become one of the important means for us to complete the design. Today’s mobile terminal user interface design can not satisfy with the realization of basic functions, the more emphasis is users’overall experience in using the products. This is a kind of progress, people are eager to have emotional man-machine dialogue, rather than cold and dull function application. In various functions of metaphor, behavior guide is the comprehensive embodiment of its functions.The author firstly expounds the concept of metaphor design, analyzes how the metaphor evolves to important design thinking of design field as a concept of rhetorical field. Then, it analyzes the basic attributes of metaphor in the design of mobile terminal user interface, so as to introduce the influence of metaphor’s behavior guide function on the design of mobile terminal user interface. The author discusses the value of metaphor’s behavior guide function from psychology, ethology and work practice. It is a in-depth exploration for behavior guide function of metaphor design.
