Since 2012, the State Grid Corporation of China(SGCC) has invested 500kV large-scale long-distance transmission project PT in Brazil, and so did the domestic power equipment exported overseas market.Relying on the project PT, first, this thesis introduces the principle of reactive power compensation, device, SVC research status at home and abroad, all levels of technical standards of IEC, IEEE, GB, DL related to SVC technology and so on. Then, it introduces SVC main structure and function from the classification and the working principle of SVC device, TCR/TSC/hybrid functions and characteristics of Angle. After, based on the Brazil project PT, it introduces the SVC application's background, scope and figure, parameter, performance curve, filter design, control system and all comprehensive solution of Chinese SVC device engineering design. Next, it describes RTDS simulation test, including the test requirements of the Brazilian National Systerm Operation Center (ONS), power system equivalent model, SVC model of the main circuit, RTDS simulation system, the results and conclusions of the experiment. Finally, based on the problems found during the implementation process, it analyzes the system frequency deviation limit changes affect the design of SVC filter branch and the interference between the two sets of SVC oscillation problem, put forward amendments to the existing industry standards, discusses the root of the problem of the system level. Besides, an explanation is given why did not check on the sub-synchronous oscillations in this case.
