Analysis Of Kongjian Yu’s Landscape Theory

Kongjian Yu is one of the most famous landscape designers who is graduate from Harvard University.In the last twenty years,he has obtained uncommon achievement which not only make his famous but also promote the development of China’s landscape theory.Based on the traditional Chinese landscape theory,he has put forward the concept of unity of man and universe.He has also presented the concept of anti-planning which was on the base of western landscape theory.He has designed many landscape works which are poetical and ecological.A lot of pubic space has also been created by his hands.With the development of China’s economy,China’s natural environment gradually becomes damaged.It is important to research his theories which have practical significance.This paper tries to research Kongjian Yu’s landscape theory in major three perspectives.The first one is literature review,the retrospection of the process and background of the creation of his concept.The second one is qualitative analysis method.The essence of his theory would be found based on the induction and deduction,analysis and summary,combination of practice and theory.The third one is descriptive method.At last,the meaning of Kongjian Yu’s landscape theory to contemporary China’s landscape practice would be illustrated.
