| Nuclear power station currently has been running for five or six years in the word. it made a great contribution to solve the energy problem of mankind, but the life of the nuclear facilities is limited.A large number of nuclear facilities will to be retired, so nuclear radiation machinery tools are needed for the retired construction; and the operating of nuclear power plants maybe leakage accident occurred, also are needed for construction treatment. Nuclear power plants are filled with a lot of radiation, if the construction or preventive measures are not proper, will bring great harm to human body.Therefore, according to the above situation is to set up the subject, the main task is to develop a safe operating equipment in the radioactive environment, radiation protection excavator. For the main work is to study of excavator cab radioactivity shielding, steel grids structure design,the cab structure and mechanical properties analysis. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:(1)The radioactive material of excavator cockpit is shielded.Anti-radiation is one of the important research projects in this word.Currently, there are a plenty of anti-radiation material, including polymermaterial, but the excavator should choice appropriate anti-radiation material that achieve cheap and reach the requirement of anti-radiation.The Material selection of industrial pure lead, the purity of 99% and thickness is 22 mm.(2) the design of anti vibration high strength composite steel plate.Lead parameters: length is 1.8m, width is1.6m and thickness is 22 mm,weight is 718 kg. lead hardness is low and easy to deformation.
