Comparing with the traditional pyrometallurgical process of waste lead acid battery to metallic lead, Directly rerecycling waste lead acid battery into special lead oxide for lead acid battery is a kind of low energy consumption cleaning process.but there were few reports about studies of preparing lead acid battery by recycling lead oxide.In this research,in view of the difference in the recycling lead oxide and Shimadzu powder between structure, surface morphology, oxidation degree and particle size,We have proposed and developed a process for the preparation of lead acid battery electrodes from recycling ?-PbO, such as powder mixing, coating, solidification and formation, as well as the study of the electrochemical properties of the lead acid battery. The main research contents of this paper are as follows:This paper studied the physical and chemical properties with different crystal structure of recycling lead oxide,the lead acid battery production process (the preparation of lead paste,the process of curing and formation) and the difference in their electrochemical properties in lead-acid batteries. Initial capacity, life, low temperature performance, high rate discharge performance and charge acceptance test show that, the performance provided by the ?-PbO in the positive and negative electrode of lead acid is better than or slightly better than that of ?-PbO.When they are used in the anode,the the capacitance of the recycling ?-PbO is at or slightly more than the the capacitance of the recycling ?-PbO in the 20th cycly, But the two kind of lead-acid battery's cycle life are more than 350 times, Because of the synthesis temperature of ?-PbO is higher than ?-PbO, so from the point of production costs, ?-PbO is also suitable for the negative electrode of lead acid battery.On this basis, this paper is based on the advantages of the capacity and the advantages of the cycle life of the recycling a-PbO. According to the physical and chemical properties between recycling a-PbO and Shimadzu lead powder, we adjusted the formula,adding a certain proportion of Shimadzu lead powder,and changed the curing process to improve the battery performance of the battery. Finally, we successfully prepared the cycle life of more than 450 times of high-performance lead-acid battery. this paper provides research foundation for the future for recycling lead oxide manufacturing advanced lead-acid battery technology industrialization.
