In recent years, with increase of population, improvement of living standards and rapid development of social economy, over exploitation of groundwater and aggravation of water pollution, coupled with the flood and other natural factors lead to challenges of growing demands of water resource in many countries and regions.Water resource scheduling is an important method and effective mean of rational utilization of water resources and solving shortage of water resources. It has the characteristics of multiple users, multiple water sources, multiple targets and uncertainty. To cope with the problems of water resource scheduling in this paper, defects of chaos genetic algorithm(CGA) are researched and improved. The main workings include the following aspects:1. Chaos genetic algorithm(CGA) can solve problems of slow convergence speed and easy to fall into local optimization in some extent in the process of water resources regulation, but there are some limitations in the practical application. In this paper, combining the instantaneity and regularity of rainfall with CAG, multi-objective decision scheduling is used to adjust water supply more reasonably and optimize water resources allocation. The simulation results show that the method can meet water demands of users, reduce waste of water resources, improve satisfaction of water supply and get more comprehensive benefits.2. CGA cann’t solve problems of water resources scheduling such as slow convergence speed and easy to fall into local optimization etc. An improved chaos genetic algorithm(DE-CGA) is proposed in this paper. The algorithm combines superiority of difference algorithm of global search algorithm, ergodicity of chaos algorithm and inversion of genetic algorithm. DE-CGA can overcome some shortcomings of the basic chaos genetic algorithm. Simulation results show that DE-CGA proposed in this paper has greater benefits than CGA in water resource scheduling.3. CGA can effectively avoid local optimal and quickly improve the speed of solution for solving the problem of water resources scheduling. But damage of population diversity leads to low accuracy, CGA damages diversity of the population. So a chaos genetic algorithm based on niche(NCGA) is proposed in this paper. This algorithm can protect population diversity by retaining source center individual of niche technology. At the same time, the algorithm combines fast convergence of the genetic algorithm with ergodicity and regularity of chaos which improves the solution speed and precision. After applying this algorithm to the model of water resource optimal allocation, simulation results prove that the proposed algorithm is more reasonable and efficient than CGA for allocation of water resources and the maximum comprehensive benefits.
