Underground Commercial Building Fire Safety And Critical Factors Determining Fire Response Performance In Chongqing

With the rapid development of economy and society, urban land utilization has become increasingly tense and the development and utilization of underground space has become an effective way to solve the shortage of land resources. The development and construction of urban underground space exhibits a mixed trend of large-scale, comprehensiveness and cluster. While the high population mobility and occupant density of underground space can easily lead to serious security risks, the security problems of underground space have attracted the attention of the whole society and the government. The fire evacuation safety is particularly important due to the special spatial structure, intense personnel, high-risk of fire and large difficulty for rescue. How to evacuate the crowd timely in the fire has become the key to minimizing casualties and reducing the impacts of fire.This paper targets at the underground personnel in the commercial building, investigates evacuation behavior in the fire and analyses the factors of evacuation behavior in underground commercial building. Based on the related theories and literature review, it aims to find out the factors which affect the evacuation behavior in Chongqing underground commercial building, dig out the actual response during the evacuation thus laying solid foundation for establishing underground commercial building evacuation model and systematic fire protection design strategy by using the method of investigation and analysis.Firstly, this paper explains the purpose and meaning of the research, reviews domestic and foreign articles about fire evacuation in underground commercial buildings and other related researches. Secondly, the author conducts a field survey of the underground commercial building in Chongqing urban area, designs the questionnaire based on literature reviews and related underground features and delivers them among the underground personnel to cognize the basic characters of personnel, the environment and the awareness of decision-making behavior in the fire. Finally, the author concludes the behavior of employees in the fire in the underground commercial building, analyses the factors which affects the psychology and decision-making behavior of staff in the fire and reaches the conclusion that the three aspects factor "fire- man- environment" affects the evacuation behavior of underground personnel in the commercial building.
