In recent years, the world is paying more and more attention to the serious environmental problems. In our country, with a major outbreak of fog and haze, environmental management and protection have already attracted government's attention. There are a lot of pollutants such as SO2, NOx, dust and other emissions from the coal-fired boilers into the air. For the basic situation of our country, there are a lot of W-Flame boilers running, with a low thermal efficiency, pollutant emissions and other issuses. In order to solve these questions, this paper combined numerical simulation with filed experiment, and proposed a plan to turn down the secondary air on F layer. After the transformation, in order to verify the results, we took a thermal efficiency test for the boiler.The numerical simulation technology is used to simulate the distribution of the cold flow field in the boiler, as well as the temperature distribution in the thermal state. After comparing the simulation results with the actual measurement results, we can get the model and the calculation method are ture. What's more, the combustion situation changed when the declination angle is different. So there are four angles, for example 0 degrees, 12.5 degrees, 25 degrees and 37.5 degrees, chosen for simulation. The results showed that the case of 25 degrees would be the best.Based on the simulation results, the boiler was transformed. After the transformation, we tested the thermal efficiency of the boiler, and the experimental results were compared with the experimental results before the transformation. The results showed that, after the reform of the boiler, the thermal efficiency was increased by 2%. Moreover, there were less NOx emissions than before. After all, because of the better effect, it is worth popularized and used on the same type of W-flame boilers in China.
