Electric steering gear system is the main part of flight control system, its main function is to realize the accurate control of rudder Angle. But due to the manufacturing process, installation error and material factors, the electric steering engine contains nonlinear factors such as mechanical clearance, friction, dead zone and elastic deformation. These nonlinear factors may cause certain influence on the performance of the steering gear, when it becomes serious it can also affect the aircraft flying qualities.Using CREO-ADAMS software, this thesis established model of steering engine, fully considering influence factors such as the friction, the damping, the stiffness of the material and mechanical clearance in the Electric steering servo gear system,and through the experiments of clearance test on electric steering engine models. Based on the actual measurement results of the clearance, the clearance data of simulation model could be adjusted, to verify the accuracy of the models. At the same time, in view of the existing nonlinear factors, with various nonlinear factors exist in the steering gear transmission mechanism, parametric analysis with motor speed as the input and the rudder shaft angular displacement and rudder shaft angular velocity as the output could be done. Taking lagging time, lagging angle and tracking accuracy of the steering gear as indicators, performance of electric steering gear dynamic response with the changing rule of the influence factors were analyzed.Simulation results showed that various nonlinear factors had various effects on electric steering gear dynamic performance according to the size of the nonlinearity parameter quantitative values present. In the actual process of steering gear design, on the basis of the rule, the corresponding optimization work could be done, and optimum control of steering gear for nonlinear problem in virtual prototype environment could be achieved. The Adams dynamics simulation model could be imported as control model to the MATLAB to achieve control simulation analysis, which provided the basis for the research of control system.
