Suturing City&Place-making,Urban Complex Design At Baishizhou Subway Station

At present, China's urban development is facing severe challenges: land resource tension, urban population surge, sharp cutoff of green area, traffic jam and environmental pollution, etc. How to perform intensive mode development on cities under the circumstance of limited city resources is the key to realizing sustainable development of cities. Because of its powerful inclusiveness and its close connection with urban traffic, urban complex becomes an important method of intensive development of cities.This article starts from the structural features of urban complex and discusses its space functions in cities. The relationship between urban renewal and urban complex and the relationship between rail transit and urban complex were analyzed respectively. Based on the background of urban renewal, the space form of the rail transit complex near the urban villages was discussed. The concept and design techniques of landscape urbanism were introduced, then putting forward design principles combined with examples and tried to direct the design practice of the urban complex of Baishizhou subway station according to these design principles.
