Preliminary Study On Urban Brownfield Landscape Renewal From The Perspective Of Ecological Urbanism

Compared with the developed countries in the West,which have undergone nearly a hundred years of industrialization,they have already entered the post-industrial era.The study of urban brownfield regeneration has been relatively mature.Due to the vastness of China’s territory and the uneven level of urban development,part of the southeastern coastal and Pearl River Delta urban agglomerations also entered the post-industrial era at the end of the last century.In the face of brownfields in the city,the renovation of brownfields in urban areas is still mainly based on the transformation of architectural space,and the use of old factories has been transformed into art centers,galleries,bars,and guest space.Most of them use brownfields in isolated and individual ways of thinking.There is a lack of new means to guide people with unity,movement,and nonlinear thinking.Ecological urbanism is one of the most prominent and important ideas in the field of general architecture in the past decade.Its ideas have become the medium of architecture,urban planning,and landscape architecture.It considers cities as a whole to think about what contributions each discipline should make.From a new perspective,we should examine and think about the structure,function,and ecology of modern cities,and try to solve urban land pollution,idle space,land use,and economic development with new ideas.Eco-urbanism revolutionizes the relationship between brownfields and cities,and deals with land issues dynamically and flexibly.This article combines the brownfield landscape restoration practice project and ecological urbanism concept since the nineteenth century,which is different from the traditional design idea to understand the green space.Put forward five strategies for the restoration of brownfields in high-density cities in China: “nonlinear thinking,emphasis on landscape processes,ecological aesthetics and landscape ethics,emphasis on multidisciplinary cooperation and public participation,and emphasis on the sustainability of landscape” and three A design step "analysis elements-revival of habitat-open space",from the city’s macro perspective to understand the positive role that green space can play in the city,including providing food for the public,creating communication space,resource recycling,waste utilization and other characteristics.This paper tries to explore a method of urban brownfield updating based on the perspective of eco-urbanism,hoping to provide references for the future renovation of urban brownfields in China,and to contribute to the realization of ecological civilization construction and sustainable development of new Chinese cities with distinctive characteristics.
